Create a custom field (one select or multi select) with pre defined values (hundreds) from a list

Hey, I have a list of customers (hundreds); upon ticket creation, I want the creator to pick the relevant customer with the exact name we use in my company.

To do so, I want to limit him to selecting the value from a specific list containing hundreds of customers

Is there an easy way to create such field?

You may be able to populated it with a script I would create a new question something like 'using a script to populate a custom select list'
