Creat Linked Issue option no longer available, have checked permissions

Suddenly, the Create Linked Issue option available under the More menu is no longer available for one of my projects, but is available for others. I've checked and compared settings and they seem to match. I've also checked permissions and settings and everything is on and active. This is in Jira server. My project is a Software project but it looks like this function was enabled for Software projects in 2016, and my team was using this without issue until suddenly yesterday it was gone. This issue is on Jira Server, not Cloud.

These have all been checked but the issue remains:

• Check Project Permissions:

  Ensure you have the "Link Issues" permission for the specific project. You may need project/Jira admin permissions to check and modify permissions.
• Use Permission Helper:

  In the issue, go to "Admin" > "Permission Helper" and check the "Link Issues" permission.
• Check Issue Linking Functionality:

  Verify that issue linking is enabled under Admin > Issues > Issue Features.

Are you using the new UI or the old one? The new UI is moving everything to the left, and in the new UI the Link work item has moved to the + Add button at the top when you are in the issue view.

Hello! We are in the old UI and this is Jira Server, not Cloud. It used to be right above Move.

I have the same issue. The "Create Linked issue" button that should be presented over "Move" is missing in one project. Is there any solution? Thanks!

It's Add Connected Work now - under the plus button.

Same here -- I don't see the option to create a new linked item on all screens. Sometimes the option is there. Often it only lets me link an existing item.

I can (within the same project) create new linked items under an Epic, but under a Story I can only create Sub-Tasks. So I guess this is a hierarchy restriction, where I can only create Child items in the layer below the Parent?

What I would like/expect to be able to do is to create a new Story or Task that "relates to" the original Story or Task. I can achieve this by cloning the Story, and then (if I want to) replace the default Clone relationship with e.g. "relates to" or "caused by".

I'm in Cloud, not Server.
