Copy to clipboard option

Hello everyone,

In the past months, I remember exporting a list from JIRA by simply selecting all the records. A menu window (black window in my screenshot) would appear, and I could select the option to copy the records to the clipboard.

Today, I tried doing the same, but it seems that the “Copy to clipboard” option has been removed from the menu. Has there been a recent change to this functionality?

You're not imagining it — it disappeared when Atlassian merged the old "List" and "All work" views into the single unified List view. The black floating toolbar you get after selecting rows now only carries bulk edit and delete; the "Copy to clipboard" action didn't survive the merge.

• There's an open suggestion to bring it back: JSDCLOUD-18884. It's in "Gathering interest", so voting and commenting there is genuinely the most useful thing you can do — that's what gets it in front of the team.
• The nearest built-in workaround is exporting instead: run the same selection as a filter in Filters → View all work items and use the Export option (CSV/Excel), then copy from the spreadsheet. Clunkier, but it's the same data.
• If you only need keys and summaries pasted somewhere quickly, selecting the text in the rendered list and copying the old-fashioned way still works for small sets, though the formatting comes out messy.

I'd not hold my breath on a quick restore — suggestions at that stage tend to sit for a while — so for a recurring need I'd build the export into the routine rather than wait.

Thankyou for your detailed answer. Very helpful. In the meantime, yes, there are a couple of workarounds that can be used but not all have the same output. Thanks for the open JAC ticket suggestion - will keep watching, hoping that the 'copy to clipboard' option is back on.

Yes, Atlassian recently removed the "Copy to clipboard" feature on Jira Cloud.
