Community moderators have prevented the ability to post new answers.
Create an automation rule that fires from the issue created event. Add an action edit issue and copy the summary into the Epic name field.

Step - Add an action edit issue - can see this,
but then copy the Summary into Epic Name field is missing or not available.

If you click on Epic Name in the sentence "Copy Epic Name from Current Issue" you should get a pop-up where you should be able to select a different field, e.g. summary for your case.

1. Choose the Epic Name field in edit work item actions.
2. Press 3 dots in the right side and press copy.
3. Then select Summary in the "Field copt value from" section.
