Converting Custom Field type from date field to date time field

I have created a custom field with data type "date field" and I wanted to convert it to "date-time field", so that I can use it for a calendar integration better. Any hints how I can do that?

You can't change the field type.

(On Server, you can, with a database hack, but you don't have access to the database on Cloud)

Hi Tarek,

You have to create a new field for the type you want. You cannot convert any fields in Jira from one type to another. 

Once you create the new field, you can copy the values over using Automation For Jira or Scriptrunner or another add-on like that.
