Convert sub-task to issue/story/new feature/task using REST API

Hi, 

Is there is an opportunity to convert sub-task to an issue/story by using JIRA REST API?

I know about GUI convert menu, but I need REST API.

It seems it's not possible. I've found unresolved issue about the opposite conversion
