Consistent language - also in portal error windows

Hi there, I noticed that some system error messages in JSM are still displayed in English, even though both the customer portal language and the JSM project language are set to German.
Screenshot 2026-03-26 083230.png

In detail, we have:

  • Configured the language support to German
  • Set project default language to German
  • Customer profile settings are set to German language too

Is there a way to have these system error messages localized to German
and if yes, where this can be configured?

Side-note on about how we reproduce this error:
The approver later clicks "Decline" again from the approval email, the resulting error page comes up

Hi @Harald Heinz ,

These are not customizable (as far as I know). There are some inconsistencies when it comes to this language translation experience and what is being translated and what's not.

I did a quick scan, and there doesn't seem to be a feature request or a bug on JAC related to what you're experiencing, but you can do an additional sweep. 👀

Also, you could reach out to Atlassian Support and discuss this with them, as their team can raise a new ticket based on your report.

Just a note that I haven't seen translations being prioritized by the JSM team, so I wouldn't put my hopes up.
What I've seen some customers doing is getting apps such as Refined to create their own portal frontend, and then they can fully manipulate every single entity and displayed message. ⚙️

Cheers,
Tobi
