Connect Database to Custom Field Select List Options

Hi,

we want to connect a database or googlesheet to a custom field in jira, so that the select list options from which the user can choose dynamically update with this database.

Is this somehow possible without the use of an add on via API?

We use an add-on for that called External Data for Jira Fields

No, not to an external source that I am aware of. You might could do it with a webhook and an API - but that's beyond me. But the add-on shouldn't be too awfully expensive.
