we are for some projects using a Jira default notification schemeimage.pngwhat exactly does it mean?

does a user need to be in a specific project role or just have access to the project via some Developer?

Please bring some light to this confusion

The highlighted line means "notify people in the project role when an issue is created".  So yes, exactly that the user is in a specific project role.

Ok, thanks.

I have actived the role developer for this project, and have added a user to that role.
but this user does not get a notification.

so second question, does it matter if the user is added to the role via a group or directly as a user

No, it does not matter if they are in a role via group or individual, they're in the role.

Hi,

This screenshot means that when a new task is created, a notification about this will be received to:

  • All watchers in this issue (if this field is not empty)
  • User in field assignee (if this field is not empty)
  • Reporter this issue
  • Users, who have a role "All changes notification" in this project
  • Users, who have a role "New issue notification" in this project

For me, this is a strange name for roles, but in this notifications scheme I see these roles)
