Hey everyone - I'm looking to add an "- Are you sure? -" confirmation box whenever an issue is transitioned to the next stage - I've been able to create the transition error and the custom field but I'm hoping we can hide that field from the edit screen and have it only appear as a selectable pop up
any help is always appreciated :)
Hello @Max_Clark
I don't think I have understood your scenario.
You said you want a confirmation pop-up when an issue transitions. For a company managed project that can be done by creating a custom screen and associating that screen to the transitions.
Can you clarify the points you made about creating a transition "error" and a custom field? What type of custom field did you create? Did you add it to a screen that you then associate with the transition?
Perhaps if you provide screen images of what is occurring that will make it more clear to us.
hi @Trudy Claspill ive actually got this working as i wanted thanks to one of your other answers :)- it now looks like this
is there a way to remove the comment box?
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
There are two methods that can possibly be used.
1. Remove the user's permission to comment on issue at all in the project. Then they will not see the Comment field in transition screens. But they won't be able to enter any comments at all.
2. Use a workflow property on the status the issue is currently in (not the status it is changing to) to block the ability to add any comments when the issue is just in that status. That would would remove the Comment field from the transition screen but would also block users from entering comments separately as long as the issue is in the specified status.
There is an open change request about being able to control the display of the Comment field in transitions screens in Jira Cloud:
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
