I can't save any changes to the board configuration.

Back story, I've been trying to add a new column for weeks, it fails I try again later, repeat.

The error:

Screenshot 2026-03-06 at 8.55.18 am.png

Our board just has 3 columns and some extra statuses.

It's not just adding columns that won't save, I can't save ANY CHANGE including column names etc.

Is my only choice really to abandon the space completely and start over? Because if that's the case I'm probably switching to linear haha

Hello @Phil Gibson

Good day! Welcome to Atlassian Community!

Is this for a Team-managed Project or a Company-managed project?

If it's a Team-managed project, it is worth checking if you have the Administrator access on the Project.

Thanks!

Hi Swathi,

It is a Team-managed project.

This worked! I was able to add myself as administrator to the space which makes no sense to me but I'll take the success!

Thank you!

Hi @Phil Gibson

I'm glad that helped!

In the Team-managed projects, the Administrator role allows users to make configuration changes.

We do have an open Feature Request to improve the error message: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-97567

Thank you!
