Completion Track Bar

Hi All,

I have a progress bar (of sorts) in my epic issues. This does not seem to be present in my tasks or subtasks.

How can I display a similar feature in a task issue and a subtask issue?

Cheers

Hi @Barry Neilson ,

I see you are on Jira Cloud Free but I expect that this feature is the same between the plans.

The progress bar displays the aggregated status category of the children issues. Grey, Blue or Green. Hover over it and and you get a run down of how many children are in what category.

As you cannot have children to Sub-tasks there can't be a children progress bar on the subtask level.

I see. So the Progress bar is directly related to sub tasks within a task.

This would seem a design issue on Atlassian's part, given that a project would still need to track the progress of a sub task.  I can work around using a numeric progress field I guess.

Thanks for your response.

Hi!

Well I would assume that the status of the subtask is your tracker on that level.  There are other ways to track progress in Jira, creating yourself a dashboard to collate data for reporting.

I see you are on the free plan.

Here is a comparison what you get in the different plans: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/explore-jira-cloud-plans/

Going to  f ex to Premium unlocks the Plan features in which you can create as deep hierarchies of issues as you like +  aggregate data bottom up, track the scope in a timeline, program board or a dependency map.

all the best

Hi Barry,

You should be able to see the progress bar  for Tasks/Stories and their sub-tasks when on the Task/Story.
