Compatbility betweeen Jira 6.3 and newer Tomcat version

jimmo42 August 23, 2018

We have Jira 6.3 and need to upgrade the Tomcat version. Currently we have 7.0.57. On the Support Platforms Page (https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira063/supported-platforms-683541780.html) I see only Tomcat 7.0.47 listed. Is Jira 6.3 supported with Tomcat 7.0.90 or perhaps Tomcat 8.5.33. Would I need to upgrade the entire Jira instance?

Jira is only supported when running on the version of Tomcat that it is bundled with.  An upgrade will handle the Tomcat part as well as Jira.

Thanks for the info. I guess we will update Jira.
