The number of columns/fields displayed in 'Child work items' of an epic is restricted to 7. Where can this limit be set?
I second the finding of @Tomislav Tobijas .
I can add more columns as well (free instance), so I can't reproduce this.
It might be due to the fact of the new Linked Work Items view that is rolling out, see; https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/blog/2026/03/atlassian-cloud-changes-feb-23-to-mar-2-2026
Then raise this to Atlassian via the Feedback option in the hlep menu or raise an issue via Atlassian Support
Hey @Stephan Langer ,
Interesting to see this. I'm not sure if there's UI option to configure the limit (at least I have not seen it). I've checked on a couple of our instances, and I can add more than 7 fields/columns in each. 👀
Maybe try reaching out to the Support team and checking with them. I'm actually curious if this can be configured 🤔
Cheers,
Tobi

@Stephan Langer actually, yes - I've initially tested on the old experience, but this limitation is related to the new one as @Marc -Devoteam- mentioned. This is, I believe, a hardcoded limit that cannot be configured.
Again, you can reach out to the support team to check and discuss this, and see if they can open a feature suggestion to adjust the limit.

Hello and Welcome @Stephan Langer
Yep @Tomislav Tobijas and @Marc -Devoteam-
Main reason is probably the new Work Item view, I’m seeing the same behavior as well.

I have not seen this change on any of the instances I manage.
So yes it seems to relate to the rolling chnage.

Indeed, and I'm not in Preview release so it seems to be Released Globaly.
