Column not showing without a status

Deleted user September 10, 2019

I am configuring my board by adding a new column in test.

I have successfully added the new column but it is not showing up on my board as it has the following note and I am unsure how to correct this

This column will not show on the board without a status!

Can you please assist here

Hi @[deleted] ,

You need to match the column to any state in the workflow.

Hi

Thank you for responding but when you say match the column, what exactly do you mean, I am trying to add a column to Test Activities prior to the Done column, I have the stories created but not been given the option to select Test column as not coming up

Hi @[deleted] ,

Before adding a column, you may need to modify the workflow to increase the same state and then match the state to the column.

When you say modify the workflow to increase the same state what exactly do you mean by that

Thanks

Hi @[deleted] ,

The status of the Issue and the columns in the Board need to be matched one by one (or more), so if you add a new column, at least one state in the workflow needs to fill the correspondence.

Here are some suggestions:

1.Adding a new status
2.Editing columns
3.Editing the mapping of JIRA workflow statuses to columns of a board

Hi @[deleted]

Do you have a workflow status of "In Test" in that column?

Columns visualise statuses from a workflow - if you don't have an "In Test" status - you'll need to add one into your flow of work to add into the column.
