Hello,

I have created a next gen project and as Project Manager I added a new QA column, where all tasks are moved, that I will review and finally set to done. Is it possible to set a rule for the last column, so only I can move it to done and my teammembers can move it to QA as the last instance? Or is this feature limited to classic projects?

Hi @Alexander Liebisch

Workflow Conditions are not available for Next-Gen at this point. However, there is ongoing work to develop a new workflow editor - see "Reimagining the Workflow Editor" on the public roadmap.

There is a workaround I found using an automation rule:

  1. Go to your Board, and press the lightning bolt button
  2. Select "View All Triggers" to start creating a rule
  3. For the Trigger, select "Issue Transitioned" - from status "QA" to "Done"
  4. Add a Condition, select "User Condition"
  5. Set "User" as "User who trigger the event", "Check to perform" as "is not" and "Criteria" as your username
  6. Add an Action, select "Transition Issue" - and choose the destination status "QA"
  7. Give the rule a name and publish it

This won't stop another user from transitioning the issue to Done - but it will reverse the transition immediately afterwards. This means they won't be able to keep an issue in Done if they make the transition.

You can replace "is not your username" with a role or group if preferred :)
