Clone a Project Type

We have a requirement where we want to track both hardware and software projects.  How do I create clone of the Software Project type called Hardware Project?

JIRA has only 3 pre-defined project types and you can't create new ones or clone them - https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/discovering-jira-applications-776636162.html 

You can use the software type to track both kinds of projects. You can use different workflows, issue types, etc. for hardware if the default ones don't make sense.
