Child issue marked as done and parent issue also showing up on done

I have an issue for which I have created 3 child issues. When I mark one as done, the whole parent issue moves to the "Done" column. I open the issue it says 33% done for that one task but why is the whole parent automatically moving to the done column when only 1 child was marked as done

My suspicion is a poorly written Automation rule. Can you go to project settings > automation and have a look at your rules? Be sure to inspect global rules too. If that looks ok then inspect your workflow post functions.

To find your automation rules go to Project settings > Automation. Therein you should find a set of rules and I suspect one of the rules is closing off the parent if the sub-task is closed. Just a theory.
