Child Issues with full list in Jira

Ellyot Rhee August 15, 2024

I want to create a Jira issue as a child of an existing issue.

I pressed CTRL-K and selected "+ Add child."

When I clicked "Choose an existing issue" under Child issues, I couldn’t find the specific issue I was looking for—the list only shows a limited number of issues.

How can I access the full list to find the specific issue?

Thank you.

Hi @Ellyot Rhee,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

The default issue hierarchy in Jira is Epic - Story/Task - Subtask, and when you are adding a child issue it implies that you want to add a child issue to an epic. If you are on the Premium plan or higher you get access to set your own hierarchy above epics, but the default behavior from epics an down still persist.
