Changing system tags on JIRA

I would like to change some of the system tags in JIRA for their better utilization in my project.for example, components can be renamed as functional area, fix version can be renamed as closure type. etc. as these terms have significance in a manufacturing organisation. Also the jira reports area configured according to the system tags. By renaming the tags I could utilize these reports.
