I managed to adopt a default workflow for my project in Jira which had the additional states such as OPEN, RESOLVED and CLOSED. Now most of my Jira items don't show up in my Sprint backlog. Only items that have TO DO or IN PROGRESS states show up on the backlog. How do I get all the items to show up in the Sprint backlog?
Start with a look at the column mapping for the board. You need to ensure that all status are mapped into a column for the issues to appear on the board (and hence in the backlog).
Thank you, is there a way that I can sit with you (in a zoom meeting) for a few minutes to change the workflow, and setup the board? For some reason now I cannot add any stories or tasks, only epics can be added.

Is the problem you are experiencing related to issue not displaying on boards or the inability to create issuetypes other than epics. If not let’s work on one at a time.
It would be good if you could provide a screen shots of the column config for you board as a starter. Board Settings > Columns. Also provide a shot of your issue types - project > Project settings > Issue types.

Thank you Jack. I copied the schema from another project, so now I can create the issues and also manage them. I still cant change my workflow. I will resume my work later. For now I just brought back to the level of original functionality, so I'm good. Thank you again for your help
