The email address I'm currently using for my account is one I will not be using as of next week. I went to update it on my account to a different one I have but apparently I started to set one up on that one before this one and never used it. Because of that it won't allow me to change my current one to that email address. Is there some way that I can do this?

The e-mail address is unique ID in the cloud. So, you will want to contact Atlassian support to help you with this:
