Cannot upload open document

When I have an open Word or Excel document and try to upload it to a Jira I get an error.

There is nothing wrong with trying to upload it, the document has been saved and I am only sharing it to read in its present state.

I should not have to copy it locally first and upload the copy or close it in Office first.

I've seen this behavior in other applications too. I suspect it is looking at a flag and you won't be able th change the behaviour
