Cannot see issues in board

Deleted user November 23, 2023

I have a Team Managed Project, and have created lots of stories and epics.  The issues are assigned to statuses, and I can see them in the Columns and Statuses page but nothing on the board. I have no filters configured. How do i see issues in my board? thanks

Hello @[deleted]

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Do you have the Backlog option enabled for the project? Do you see the Backlog option in the panel on the left?

If so, click on that option.

In the Backlog view you will see the issue divided into two list groups; one labeled Board (at the top) and one labeled Backlog (below the Board list).

With the Backlog feature enabled, when you create issues using the Create button in the menu bar they will be placed on the Backlog list. If you want to display them on the board you have to drag them from the Backlog list to the Board list. Or, click the +Create button available at the bottom of a column on the Board itself.

This enables you to have just the most important things to be worked on showing in your board. This helps if you have a large backlog.

If you want all the issues displayed on the Board and don't want to use the Backlog option, you can turn it off from Project Settings > Features.

Hi @[deleted]

This will depend what Board features you have turned on.

You can manage these features:

  • Go to Project Settings > Features
    • Backlog - if this is active (without Sprints) - your Board will have a Backlog where issues go when created. You need to "drag" them from the Backlog to the Board. The Backlog is on the left-hand menu when on your Board.
      • You can also right-click / select issues to send to the Board
    • Sprints - if this is active, you will have a Backlog - and, you'll need to create Sprints / start them for issues to appear on the Boards

You could deactivate both of course, and issues would appear directly on the board from the start.
