I assume that there has been a facelift to Jira between the 9th and 10th of april (at least for me). With this, I can no longer hide either of the sidebars that are shown with an issue open in the browser. I am using Edge 134.
I can never get the left sidebar "hide-arrow" to show, but the one for the right sidebar will be visible once per page refresh if I press the "..."-button there. It will only be visible for part of a second and it is not clickable, even if I try to catch it before it fades away.

As of 10.08.2026, Hovering anywhere over the right sidebar line cause the "Collapse" with a right arrow to pop up, then you can right-collapse. And the left collapse arrow is now found in the top left, not bottom left.

Works for the left sidebar for me. Right sidebar arrow still does not work.

The [ shortcut is working for me again in Confluence, so presumably in the other Jira view I use on my corporate machine. Will try on Tuesday.

I can manually Collapse and Expand the Jira and Confluence sidebar, but the [ shortcut has stopped working.

"[" does nothing for me either.
Thanks for teaching me about the existance of shortcuts!
EDIT: How do you manually expand/collapse? I can change the size of the sidebars with the vertical bar/border. Can you hide them?

@Pehr Wänggård Söderling The UI's keep changing, so what I use at work vs. personal projects looks different, but what I see in Confluence right now (and was seeing in Jira until my layout switched to vertical tabs) was this icon:

@Rob Johnson I see, thanks!
I assumed the left sidebar would have the same icon as the right one. Clicking that button (and now also "[" for some reason) works for the left sidebar.
I still cannot collapse the right sidebar however (same as in my orig post):

Welcome @Pehr Wänggård Söderling
Are you facing this issue just on your Edge browser? Have you tried using other browsers?

Hello and thanks for your reply!
Firefox 137 behaves the same.
Opera 117 ditto.
Can't find any more non-Chromium (did not realise Opera is now Chromium-based before I installed it) or non-Firefox-fork GUI browsers to test.
