Can you use higher level work item types on the Jira timeline view?

We have Jira Premium which allows our organization to have work items types above the out of the box Jira Epic. We have a strategic Jira Project that has "effort name", "milestones", and Epic work item type in it for planning purposes. On the timeline view for the strategic project, I'd like to be able to map the "milestones" and their supporting epic work items types. I know I can bring the data together in Plans. I'd like to be able to do this in the timeline view since it is easy to do, real-time, and great way to start before moving to plans to bring in all the cross-team work.

Any plans to enhance Jira Timeline view for the project to bring in the hierarchy of issue types to map?

Hi @Joni Johnson ,

Thank you for your question. The quick reply is: No, you can't. Until now it is necessary to use Plans.
