Can you restrict user access by Jira Board

Joon Lee January 27, 2021

I'd like to restrict access by Project Boards which are setup using Components. The goal is to have Groups for each Board which is currently unique based on Components have access only to their Board and not the other Project Boards. I tried Creating a Group and went into Board Settings/Edit Current Filter, but didn't see the newly created Group available. All I see are my Admin Groups.

@Joon Lee

On each board under the general setting, there is a shares section.  Under the this section you will be able to add the groups that you created.

Hi Brant,

Thanks for the response but I'm not seeing my newly added Group in the Shares section. It looks like all the available Groups are Admin level Groups in there.

Joon,

  If you just created the group it will not initially show.  Sometimes it takes up to 30min to index into the projects.  Please give it some time to propagate out.

Brant,

That wasn't the issue. It looks like the only groups that are available are groups with Admin permissions associated.

Hi Joon,
Your user need to be member of that group first in order to see that group in the list.

Shahab.
