Can you create custom actions that you can then access through the actions menu (accessed with ".")

Is it possible to enable per-field editing from the actions menu (opens on . press)? For example, when pressing dot and then typing Team and hitting return, I could jump into editing of this field. A user says they saw such a feature some time ago in a different Jira instance, and it was extremely handy.

Is it possible at all to add items to this actions list?

It is possible, one only needs to write a plugin and go through the approval process. Cheer!
