Can you copy a whole Kanban column from one Jira project to another?

I'd like to either copy and paste a whole Kanban column from one Jira board to another, OR link it and have it duplicated on both projects. (Basically I have several projects running each with an 'actions' column, and I now need a summary board to bring together actions from everything). Thanks

Hi @Kerry Hope

There should be no need to duplicate the Actions - you can bring them all into one place using an additional Board, assuming these are all Company-managed Software Projects

If Team-managed and/or Work Management, the below might still work with some caveats (eg. Location Project must still be a CMP Software one).

---

To create this new Board:

  • Click the search bar in the top-right corner
  • On the pop-up which appears, choose Boards from the "Go to all" menu near the bottom
  • Create a Board (choose a Kanban Board)
  • Select Board from an existing Project
  • Give the Board a name, and add a Project/Location - then create it

Once created...

  • Select the breadcrumbs (...) in the top-right, and choose Board Settings/Configure Board
  • Select General from the left-hand menu
    • Click the hyperlink Edit Filter Query
    • Modify the search to include all relevant Projects, and any other search parameters needed
    • Then, press Save to apply this to your new Board
  • Once complete, all Projects' issues will be on one Board, then you can modify the other settings - eg. Columns

Let us know if this works for you :)
