Can we implement OWNER and ASSIGNEE in Jira?

We use Kanban at our development project. Each issue should have only one person responsible for it at any time (a developer, a reviewer, a tester), as it was originaly designed.

But in a development project there's another important person - a developer who implemented this issue. I'd like to always have this person visible on a card, because he is often the only one who can answer questions about the issue implementation, limitations, etc.

So I would like to have two things on a card:

  1. an original developer (owner)
  2. a person currently responsible for the issue (assignee)

How can I achieve this? (I'm a Jira project Administartor, but I'm not a Jira admin).

You would need to set up a new custom field of 'User picker' type. You can find more information on how to do it here:

And then you can add that field to the card layout under board settings.
