Can we create subtasks in another project?

My project managers would like to able to create subtasks that are in a different project than the parent project. EX: In the main application an issue is created, APP-0001, and one of the task associted is a change in our Datawarehouse/Reporting system, DWR-0001. The project maanger would like to be able to look at APP-0001 and see that status of all related subtasks(issues).

Creating a subtask in a different project than its parent is not possible. People tend to do that with components within a project.

If the scenario calls for two different projects, then I would create an issue in the other project and link it to the original one using issue links.
