Can we assign epic link to jira type task?

With one of my jira task epic link is associated . For this jira type I am facing an error "gh.epic.error.not.found" .

You will need to give us more information. When does this error occur and what does it look like? What is the full text and where does it appear?

If you edit the issue, then can you set an Epic link for an existing Epic at all?
