Can velocity chart be based on any other status other than Resolved or Closed?

We have JIRA projects where our clients collaborate with us by testing our deliverables and then signing them off for UAT deployments.

The goal of our sprints is to make our JIRAs ready for our clients so that they can test them in their next sprint. Now we do not use Resolved or Closed status to identify that but a different status "Ready for client" which lets the client know that the JIRA is ready for them to pick up. 

We use Resolved status to identify once an issue passes UAT testing and we use Closed to identify JIRAs that have been deployed in production. 

Our velocity charts are always empty as they run on Resolved or Closed status. So, I would like to know if there is a way to run the velocity chart on the "Ready for client" status so that we can then identify how many SP we completed in the sprint?

We are using the standard JIRA product and not the premium or extended one.

The Velocity Chart considers the issue completed if they are in a Status that is mapped to the column farthest to the right on your board. If you want to consider "Ready for Client" as the completed status for purpose of your sprint Velocity, then you need to map that status to the right-most column of the board. You can have multiple statuses mapped to the right most column, or you could remove the Resolved and Closed statuses from your board.
