Can't update the Due Date field for Epics/Features

I would like to update the Due Date field for a Feature/Epic.  It appears that the Due Date field is non-editable.  Do I need special privileges to update the field or is the value in that field derived from other data?

 Can you check that the Due Date field is present on the edit screen for your issue type?
