Can't the see the button to create a new status on the configuration page

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
I have admin permissions on my projects.
After creating a Scrum pannel, when I access the project configuration page to create new status, the button does not appear on the page. I have all admin permissions on my profile
I'm only given the option to create a new column , but not a new status
Thoughts?
