Can't populate a release with issues, Can't create a version to release from board.

I am unable to add items to a Release.  I created the release and nothing displays when I search to add issues.  I've tried the Jira ID, description, key words. 

I tried to use the Release - Create a Version option for my Ready to Release issues instead, and I get a "Something went wrong. Please refresh and try again" but this has been going on for days. 

I have looked all over settings and am at a loss.  I was previously able to create and release versions for this Project.  What all should I look at?

Welcome to the community! 

May I ask if you are you on a Company manager or Team managed project?

Is the fix version field visible on the screen but there is nothing in it? 

A few screenshots would be good!

Thank you!!! The Fix Version field was hidden.  Everything works as expected now.
