Can't group by sprint in jira plans

Hi I would like to group by my plan view to be according to relevant sprints but for some reason it always gives the unassigned sprint issues only, at first i thought maybe it's related to the filter but I see that it doesn't really matter,

If Im trying to do it by releases it works fine but by sprints it's not grouping it, any ideas?

Hi Ron Aisen,

If your Plan is sourcing issues directly from a project or a filter, it can't associate issues with sprint data. This results in all items being grouped under Unassigned when grouped by Sprint.

Solution: - Use a Scrum board as your issue source

  1. Create or select a Scrum board that reflects the sprints you’re using.
  2. Go to Plan → Manage views → Issue sources.
  3. Remove project/filter sources, and instead add the Scrum board as the issue source.
  4. Refresh and set Group by → Sprint in your view settings.
  5. Issues should now group under their correct sprints, not “Unassigned”.
