Hi, I cannot find "Board settings when clicking the ellipses in Board view.
I've followed multiple tutorials online, and for everyone else, the settings are just there. But for me, it does not exist.
For context, I'm the owner and Admin of the space and each of the projects.

Hello @justinkwapich
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
From the screenshot you shared, this appears to be Team-managed business Board; here the Board settings are not available unlike the Software projects. However, you could configure the Board columns and manage the fields displayed on the cards via the "View settings" option.
For the Company-managed software projects, the Board settings are available from ellipses next to the Board name..
I hope this helps!
Thank you
It's Company-Managed. I mentioned I have both:
Here's what I see in Company-Managed:

I still don't have access to that option. Any ideas? Thanks!

hi
in team managment project you have not acess in board setings because you have only 1 board via project, for multiple boards and for configuration you have to create Company managment project

Hello @justinkwapich
Welcome to the Atlassian community.
What is the Type of the Space/project this concerns? Click the ... next to the Space name in the navigation panel on the left. The resulting popup will show the Space type at the bottom and will say something like "Software space Team-managed"
The method to access the configuration options depends on the Space type. Not all Space type present the same options for configuring boards.

Hello @justinkwapich
I addition to noting that it is Team-managed or Company-managed it is important to note the other aspect of the space type. As shown in the image that is "Business space".
For a Business space the options to configure the board are different than for a Software space. Business space boards do not have a "Board Settings" option. The tutorials you saw probably applied to "Software" spaces.
What are you trying to change about the board for this space? If you tell us what you are trying to do, then we can provide advice about whether or not that is possible for a Business space board.

Okay, that's very helpful information. Is it possible to switch from Business Space to Software Space? Or, if not, when creating a new space, how do I ensure that it's a Software space?
My main goal is just to make my Jira look like what I see others using online, and with those options like "swimlanes" in the Board settings. The best way to accomplish that, based on what you've told me, would be having a Software space.
Thanks again!

Hello @justinkwapich
It is not possible to switch an existing space from Business to Software, nor between Team-managed and Company-managed.
If you have data in your current space that you need in a different type of space then you have to create a new space of the correct type and Move the items from the original space to the new space. There are other things to consider when moving items to another space related to potential loss of data.
If you want to start from scratch with a new space and create new data in it, ensuring that it is a Software type space, then when you see the Space Templates page you need to select from the Software Templates group.
Note that there are also differences in available board configuration options between Team-managed and Company-managed projects.
You may also see differences in the boards depending on whether it is a Scrum board or a Kanban board.
If you want your options to look the same as the options you see in another board or tutorial, you have to know if that board is for a Team-managed space or a Company-managed space, and if it is a Scrum or Kanban board.
Note that "Swimlanes" is a term that has been used with Company-managed space boards, and could be used in both Scrum and Kanban boards.
