Can't connect to GitHub

Bernat Rafales
April 1, 2013

I'm trying to link my JIRA account with GitHub and being unable to do it successfully.

I've been following the steps in this page: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/AOD/Linking+a+Bitbucket+or+GitHub+repository+with+JIRA+OnDemand

I already created the oAuth tokens in Github, and when I try to link the account JIRA goes to a webpage on github passing those oauth tokens as parameters but github responds with a 404 error page.

Using github organizations.

Any clues?

Bernat,

Did you add the OAuth keys to JIRA? (This is Step 1 on the page you reference.)

Hi Mary,

Yes, I did. I got my oAuth settings from github using the callback url provided by jira, copied the github oeauth tokens (key and secret) and clicked on update keys, then went to the JIRA DCVS settings page and filled in there my organization name, then is when JIRA tried to open a github URL (with the oauth params on the URL) to (I suppose) get some authentication credentials from github, but the requests ended up in a 404 response code from github.

Any ideas?

Bernat,

You don't say whether you are an OnDemand users or using a JIRA instance behind the firewall (BTF). If you are BTF, make sure you have the latest.

If you are OnDemand or you continue to have this problem, I think you may be encountering a bug. Please file a support request.
