Can't associate Team to Issue Source

Phoebe Ellis Rees November 18, 2022

I'm trying to implement Capacity Planning in Advanced Roadmap. When reproducing the steps recommended here to associate my team to my issue source (Board) I can't replicate.

Under the Menu (...) I have only 2 options: Leave Team or Delete Team. The article describes being able to Edit Team but that's not possible for me.

I have admin permissions to manage teams, and my Super Admin is also replicating the same issue and can't associate.

How do I associate Teams to Issue Sources so I can use Capacity Planning in Advanced Roadmaps?

Hello @Phoebe Ellis Rees

Welcome to the community.

Can you provide a screen image of what you see? I wonder if you are on the wrong screen.

To get to the right screen you need to click here when viewing your roadmap.

Thanks, this was helpful! Not the solution that's documented in the guide from Atlassian but it got me close!

I was unable to search for an existing shared team which I've already created, but I can create Plan Only teams from scratch. Do you know if this would create any additional limitations for me?

Hello @Phoebe Ellis Rees

Be advised that there are two types of Teams in Jira:

1. Teams under the People menu

2. Teams created through Advanced Roadmaps

These are entirely different features. If you created Teams under the People menu those will not be accessible in Advanced Roadmaps. Only the Teams created through Advanced Roadmaps are accessible in Advanced Roadmaps. And only the Teams created through Advanced Roadmaps can be used in the built-in Team field that is available in Issues.

The documentation you referenced in your original post concerns only the teams available in Advanced Roadmaps.

It sounds like perhaps you created teams under the People menu. Again, that is entirely separate functionality.

If you want to use Teams in Advanced Roadmaps you need to create them within the Advanced Roadmaps feature. If that team you were searching for was created under the People menu, then at this point you need to create new teams through Advanced Roadmaps and Share them through Advanced Roadmaps if you want to be able to use them in multiple plan/roadmaps. Refer to this documentation:
