Can't assign a task to a user

Hello,

we have our Jira Server linked to our AD. There is an AD group for Jira users. this group is linked to Assignable User in Jira.

I can assign a task to all users of this group except for one user. This user has not logged in to Jira yet. Can this be the problem? I added that user to Users and Roles for that project.

Must have been a timing issue. The user was added to the group earlier today and is now available in Jira. The user has not logged in to Jira.
