Can't add related work to Release

Hello. I am trying to configure releases in Jira. I keep getting a message that says "Can't add related work" You don't have permission to add related work to this version. 

I am an admin in Jira and it's a project I created.  Any ideas?

Release is determined by the Fix Version/s field in your tickets. In order to add the related work, you need the "Resolve Issue" permission. This permission allows you to view and edit the fix version. By granting yourself the "Resolve Issue" permission, you will be able to add the necessary related work. Please note that this permission is required even if you are an admin.

Project settings > permissions > resolve issues - permission.
