Hi,

I’m having an issue connecting my existing Atlassian Cloud site to the Jira mobile app.

The Confluence mobile app connects without any problem,

but when I try to add the same site in the Jira mobile app,

it fails to connect (the app doesn’t recognize the site or just stops during setup).

I tried to fix this by deleting and recreating the site,

but there’s no option to remove it,

and support emails are automatically rejected with a notice to use the community instead.

So now I’m stuck — I can’t connect Jira mobile to my site,

and I can’t delete or recreate the existing one.

Could someone please help me figure out how to:

  1. Make the site accessible from the Jira mobile app, or

  2. Delete the current site and create a new one with the same domain?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble connecting your Atlassian Cloud site to the Jira mobile app, especially since Confluence mobile works fine with the same site.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the connection issue:

a. Check Site URL and Access

  • Ensure you are entering the correct Atlassian Cloud site URL (e.g., yoursite.atlassian.net).

  • Confirm you can access Jira from a web browser on your mobile device.

b. Update the Jira Mobile App

  • Make sure you have the latest version of the Jira mobile app installed from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).

c. Clear App Cache and Data

  • Try clearing the app cache/data or uninstalling and reinstalling the Jira mobile app.

d. Authentication Method

  • If your site uses SSO (Single Sign-On), ensure your identity provider supports mobile logins.

  • If you use an Atlassian account, try logging in with your email and password (or Atlassian account login).

e. Permissions and Product Access

  • Make sure your user account has access to Jira (not just Confluence) on the site.

  • Check with your site admin to confirm your product access.

f. Network Issues

  • Try connecting using a different network (Wi-Fi vs. mobile data) to rule out network restrictions.

g. Known Issues

  • Sometimes, Atlassian Cloud sites with custom domains or certain configurations may have issues with mobile app discovery. If your site uses a custom domain, try using the original atlassian.net address.

2. Removing/Recreating the Site in the App

  • The Jira mobile app does not allow you to delete or recreate a site from within the app if the connection fails during setup. However, you can:

    • Remove the app and reinstall it to clear all cached site data.

    • On iOS: Long-press the app icon > Delete App > Reinstall.

    • On Android: Go to Settings > Apps > Jira > Storage > Clear Data, or uninstall and reinstall.
