Can someone point me to a doc showing how to configure user auth in jira?

Subject line says it all.   I've wasted too much time wading through search results that return admin for other products or try to upsell me to by more product.  All I'm looking for is a doc that discusses configuring user auth.  e.g. setting up LDAP or federated login

The docs are here https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiracloud/managing-users-and-groups-776636262.html  Unfortunately, the URL they specify to use didn't actually work for me, i.e. https://admin.atlassian.com/   Turns out he URL for us to use is  https://<our-site>.atlassian.net/admin
