Can a user who is not assigned to a space work on and view an issue from that space?

I have Jira Standard in my organization and I am trying to set the different permissions. In my case, we work in different teams and different spaces but sometimes, an space require collaborations from other teams.

What I am trying is the following:

- Create an issue in the space of my team.

- Assigne the issue to an user from other team (the user is not assigne to my space and dont have permissions to see my space)

- The user must be able to see and work on the issue in the board of his/her space and I must be able to see how is going the issue.

In the last point is where I have the problem. Please, could someone help me? Is that possible to do it?

Hi @Fran Cabrera

Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Unfortunately, you can’t:

  • Assign an issue to someone who cannot see it.

  • Set per-issue permissions independent of project-level permissions (that’s only possible using Advanced Issue Security).

As @Nikola Perisic said, there is need for the Browse projects permission.

  • In the Permission Scheme, look for Browse Projects.

  • Add a group, role, or specific user(s) from other teams who need to collaborate.

  • Optional: Use Issue Security Levels to hide other issues from them (so they don’t see everything).

Welcome @Fran Cabrera

You need to have the Browse project permission to see the project and also all of the issues within that project. To mention someone from the other project, they need to be the part of that project as well.

Limit Browse project permission to people that really need it.
