Can a custom number field be added on a story level which could be summed up in reports?

For a project, we would like to add a number field in our Kanban board where we would like to report on as an indication of the materiality of the problem. 

In the reporting, this number should be able to be summed up in order to have a total sum on the epic level.  I was wondering if such an attribute can be added?

If i understand this correctly you want to add a number custom field for story issue type and the epic should have the custom field with a total of the custom field for all stories under it ?

Is that correct. Yes its possible. You can use automation rule to do that.
