Can I use slack to resolve a ticket ID into a URL (e.g. like resolving an IP Address into a domain name).

Can anything else be enable in Slack to transform anything that starts with issue type ID into a clickable Jira URL?

Hey Emma,

For Jira Cloud we provide the Jira Cloud for Slack app which can expand out a Jira issue key into a preview and link into Jira:

The current iteration of the app requires you to configure each Slack channel to whichever Jira projects you'd like the issue mentions to work on. This does take a bit of time to set up initially - see the documentation for more details.

A future version of the app will allow you to simply mention any issue key in your Jira (no matter the project) and have it unfurl in your Slack channels without setting up the projects specifically.
