Can I upgrade Jira 9.4.6 directly into 9.15.2?

Hi,

We have been reviewing the release notes for Jira and are planning to upgrade our Jira software from version 9.4.6 to 9.15.2. However, when checking the "Plan your upgrade" section, it only recommends the next version, which is 9.5.0.

Are there any issues we might encounter if we upgrade directly to 9.15.2?

Thanks
Tejas

Hi @Tejas Naik

You always need to test the upgrade on a test environment first. But, it should be ok. We migrated from 8.20.X to 9.12.X .

Make sure to review each app if they have a breaking change but from 9.4.6 I do not except major change.

I agree with Florian that you should always test your upgrades, but I've never had a problem upgrading within the same major release (e.g. 9.x to 9.x)
