I would like to have my sprint board grouped by stories but still at a story level be able to see the parent epic on the board. As soon as I add subtasks to the story however the epic information is removed from the story tab and I cannot find a way to retrieve it.
The "Show Epic" default filter on the sprint board appears to do nothing.
Does anyone have any advice on how this can be achieved? I am aware this is pretty standard functionality in some other platforms such as DevOps.
Please see attached for visualisation of problem.

Unfortunately, it's not possible to edit the Story swimlane to display the Epic label in the board view as you need. We understand how useful this feature would be, so we created the following feature request to get this customization option available:
Add Epic label to stories swimlane
Additionally, we also have the feature request to remove the filter "show Epics" when using the Story swimlane, as it does not have any utility:
Disable 'Show epic labels' when the Swimlanes is based on Stories
