Can I security patch jira server without active license?

My jira server license is expiring soon and the migration to jira data centre is planned one month after the server license expires (due to complications).

If a security patch arrives in the period we are unlicensed and not migrated yet, will the patch/update be available for an unlicensed jira server version?
Also will the configured automation rules still work after the license of that app expires?

I look forward to hearing back.

unfortunately you can't upgrade a JIRA instance without an active license.

Hello Fabio,

Does this mean even If i have an LTS version of jira server installed. 

The momment the license expires, we are vulnerabel and can not patch the system anymore?

Possibly.

Upgrades and patches are not the same thing.  You will not be able to upgrade, but a patch is a direct injection of fixed code that does not change the version of your system.

However, Atlassian very very rarely use patches, it's only done with critical faults or where a client cannot upgrade for reasons other than licence-expired.
